Bernard Holman

     Bernard “Bernie” M. Holman, 80, of Humbird passed away Dec. 7, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center.

     Bernard was born in Humbird Aug. 20, 1941, to Hartwig “Melvin” and Sadie (Ives) Holman. Bernard married Maureen (Laffe) July 6, 1963, in Humbird.

     He was a proud U.S. Marine and loved his country. Bernard was a business owner in the lawn and garden equipment industry most of his life.

     Bernie loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved camping and cooking over the fire, his famous chili, fishing, hunting, being outside listening to the birds and nature, watching the deer and playing cards.

     Bernie is survived by his children, Chad (Pam) Holman of Milladore, Melissa (Jason) Blunt of Humbird and Jennifer (Bob) Swinda of Dakota, IL; five grandchildren, Brandon Gill, Echko Holman, Jaran Holman, Saphire (Dan) Reid and Alyssa Swinda; great-grandchildren Jackie Gill, Juniper and Aurora Reid and Rylyn Holman; his best friend, George Bednar; and many nieces and nephews.

     Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen; his parents Melvin and Sadie; and his siblings.

     A celebration of life will be held April 9, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Humbird Fire Hall in Humbird.
