ANTHONY REBARCHIK

Anthony “Tony” Michael Rebarchik, 93, was born June 6, 1929, in a farm house of his grandparents a few miles west of Beaver in Marinette County. He died peacefully in his sleep June 19, 2022. He was active right up through his last day.
Anthony was the firstborn of his family of 11 children. He grew up on the Rebarchik’s farm helping his dad and mother. He graduated high school in Coleman and then went to Marquette University in Milwaukee where he graduated as a civil engineer. He went on to San Francisco, CA, and worked for the City of Burlingame for 32 years as the city engineer. Tony married in California and raised three boys, Edward, Lawrence and Marc. His wife preceded him in death 20 years prior. After retiring, he packed up and moved back to Wisconsin and settled a few miles west of Hixton. He loved his 40 acres, loved all the birds, frogs in the pond, deer and being in the country. He always had a garden, apple trees, blueberries, raspberries, grapes and canned or froze lots of food. He loved meeting at the Lunda Senior Center to play cards. He made lots of firewood to heat his home in winter, with help from his brothers. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army.
Tony is survived by his sons, Ed, Larry and Marc; brothers Frank, Mike, Leonard, Joseph and Leo; sisters Margaret, Ann and Rose.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Ignatius and sister Mary Anthony Clare.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Guardian Angel’s Catholic Parish. Father Immanuel Famiyeh will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, everyone is invited to a luncheon at the church. Entombment will take place at The Catholic Cemetery, 519 Losey Blvd S., La Crosse, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
