KATHY "KAT" HEERINGA

Kathy “Kat” Heeringa, 53, passed away peacefully July 14, 2022, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Kathy was born Sept. 19, 1968, to Elwin and Fran Walsted of the Hixton, WI area. A graduate of Black River Falls High School, she worked many years at the Black River Falls truck stop. Before her passing, she worked for the Department of Correction Jackson Correctional Institution, Black River Falls, in the business office as a financial specialist for 20 years.

Kat loved her hobbies and crafts. She loved photography and was very accomplished at it, with Lake Wazee being one of her favorite places to photograph wildlife. Kat loved her Jeep Wranglers, six total in all. “Baby Grey” was the name for the one she had at present. She had two dogs, Teddy and Silas, who she loved with all her heart.

She was the perfect hippy chick always, and a peace sign from her, and of course, the hand-hole game got ya. She was the kindest soul you will ever meet. She will be deeply missed by all.

Kat married Craig Heeringa Sept. 26, 1998, and they were married for 24 years and together for 26 years.

Kat was one in a billion. I lost my best friend, wife and love. There will be a forever hole in my heart until we meet again. I believe earth stood still for a moment when the cute little hippy chick found her way to Heaven. Jesus Christ was there to welcome her to everlasting life.

Kat is survived by her husband, Craig, of Black River Falls and her father and stepmother, Elwin and Rosealee Walsted, of Middleton, WI.

She was preceded in death by her mother, brother and grandparents.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date to be announced. Heaven got one of the kindest, sweetest souls ever. Until we meet again for the next dance. Love you, Good Stuff.
