DELBERT H. EMBKE

     Delbert H. Embke, 77, of Hatfield passed away June 26, 2023, at home with his wife by his side. He was born in Black River Falls, WI, Oct. 9, 1945, and raised in Neillsville, WI.

     Delbert could fix anything. If he didn’t have a tool he needed, he would invent one, which always worked. All his working years were spent driving trucks – dump truck, cement truck, log truck and semi-trucks. He could drive also anything that was in the gravel pit.

     Most of all, Delbert liked talking to people, even if he didn’t know them. If he could make them smile and laugh, it made his day.

     His hobbies were hunting, fishing and dancing to old-time music. His last project at age 73 was overhauling a 1962 Allis-Chalmers tractor.

     Delbert is survived by his wife, Judy, of 58 years; daughter Catherine Morgan; son Roger Embke; daughter Cheryl (Dave) Rozmenoski; one brother, Ron Embke; and a sister-in-law, Anita Embke; six grandkids and eight great-grandkids.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nina (Gates) Embke; paternal grandparents; maternal grandparents; two brothers, Darrell Embke and Eugene Embke; and a half-brother, Ernest Embke.

     Services for Delbert will be at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse, WI, at 12 noon July 6, 2023. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, and burial will be at Morman Coulee Memorial Park in La Crosse, WI.
