Mark Mahlon Gilbertson
Mark Mahlon Gilbertson, 65, of Black River Falls, WI passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI, following a long battle with multiple illnesses.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1960, in Black River Falls, WI, to Ilett and Cynthia (Faldet) Gilbertson. He graduated from Black River Falls High School and then worked as a superintendent for Western Bridge Construction. Mark then spent many years as a truck driver for JB Hunt Transport, Walgreens and Hayes Transport.
He loved all kinds of vehicles, including cars, snowmobiles and motorcycles. He could tell you the make and year of any of his vehicles. He also loved deer hunting with his family at the farm in the Town of Irvin. He will be deeply missed.
Mark is survived by his longtime special friend, Linn Cardin; half-brother Doyle (Debbie) Gilbertson; half-sister, Theresa Erbach (Rand); three aunts, Dianne Faldet, Cleo Scharlau, and Judy Gilbertson; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; uncles, James Faldet, Arvid Faldet, Bernhart Gilbertson, Russel Scharlau, and John Lee; aunt, Myrna Fae Lee; cousin, David Gilbertson; cousin’s husband, Mark Bahnub; and many other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Little Norway Cemetery in Albion Township.
Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
