ALLEN SPORS

Allen grew up on the Spors farm near Melrose and lived there until May 2021 when he moved into Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls. He farmed on the original Spors’ farm until 2001 when he sold his cows. Allen was a graduate of Melrose High School and very proud to be the only two-time state FFA president. Allen married Ione Salomonsen on Jan. 18, 1958. She passed away on Sept. 24, 1970. Allen married Irene Jerome on Aug. 6, 1971. They just celebrated 51 years of marriage together in Pine View Care Center.
Allen served on the Melrose Town Board for several years and enjoyed working at the Town of Melrose recycling center on Saturday mornings. Allen’s family was very important to him. He loved to take the grandchildren on 4-wheeler rides through the woods. He also loved fishing, hunting, playing cards and cribbage, dressing up as Santa Claus, watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, and cheering for the Packers. Allen could spend hours talking with anyone about anything and always made you feel special. He was a kind-hearted, selfless, man who adored his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family.
