BETH ANN AMBORN
Beth Ann Amborn (Shankey), 62, of Black River Falls, WI, was called home to the Lord March 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Beth was born in West Bend, WI, Nov. 12, 1961, to Vernon and Janet (Bates) Shankey. She attended Lincoln High School in Alma Center, WI, where she met Michael Caponigro.
Beth married Michael Caponigro Oct. 27, 1979. Throughout their years of marriage, they were blessed with a son, Nathan, and two daughters, Renata and Breanne. They later divorced in 1991.
Beth worked at Jackson County Health and Human Services as an economic support specialist for roughly two decades. Her bubbly personality, kind demeanor and strong work ethic radiated onto her clients and fellow coworkers. In 1992, Beth met Orville Amborn, whom she married Sept. 23, 1995. Upon marrying Orville, Beth gained two bonus daughters, Megan and Thereasa. Throughout their 29 years of marriage, they enjoyed cheering on their daughters in each activity the girls were involved in. Any given night of the week, you could find them at the baseball field, track, football games, basketball games, Girl Scout activities or enjoying a band/choir concert. When Beth and Orville weren’t spending time with family, they enjoyed going to country music concerts, attending the local fairs, sitting around campfires, dinner dates to Culvers, trips to WalMart and going to Milwaukee to visit the zoo.
Starting in 2006, Beth and Orville were blessed with their first grandchild Aaron, followed by Olivia, Logan, Parker, Alexander, Dreyden, Dra-Mayne, Ethan, DraMontae, Jennings and Axyl. Throughout the years, six more grandchildren were welcomed into the family: Madeline, Gwendolyn, Keegan, Vincent, Joscelyn and Ariah. Beth’s grandchildren were her world and the light in her eyes. She cherished every moment with each one of them and loved their hugs.
Beth, from a very young age, has always struggled with her on-going and developing health issues. Even through the health issues and pain, she persevered, remained positive and continued to fight for her life for all her loved ones. Beth has always been a very courageous, strong-willed, compassionate, caring, loving and faithful woman of God. Beth succumbed to many years of illnesses March 20.
Beth is survived by spouse Orville; daughters Renata (Zack Olson) and Breanne Caponigro; step-daughters Megan (Sean) Tracy, Thereasa (Josh) Holman; sisters Linda (Leslie) Moore, Sandra Schankey and Christina Stewart; brothers John (Lorena) Schankey, Joseph (Tammy) Schankey and Justin (Natalie) Schankey; brother-in-law: Chad Larsen; grandchildren Aaron Dawley, Olivia Caponigro, Logan Graves, Parker Rieck, Alexander Olson, Dreyden Sanders, Dra-Mayne Sanders, Ethan Olson, DraMontae Sanders, Jennings Tracy, Axyl Tracy, Madeline Olson, Gwendolyn Olson, Keegan Holman,Vincent Holman, Joscelyn Olson and Ariah Holman; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved pets Chloe, Daeja and Dreya; and many other family, friends and co-workers.
Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Janet Schankey; stepmother Joyce Schankey; sister Jenny Larsen; son Nathan Caponigro; nephew Tate Stewart; maternal and paternal grandparents; and former husband Michael Caponigro.
With her enormous love for animals, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter in her name.
The celebration of life memorial service for Beth was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls. A visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home Monday, March 25, 2024. The visitation continued Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
