Beverly A. Doud

 

Beverly A. Doud, 92, of rural Alma Center, passed away Dec. 25, 2025, at her home. She was born July 4, 1933, in Hixton to Edward and Mildred (Kilburg) Brandt.

Beverly graduated from Whitehall High School in 1951, following which she worked as a secretary at the Trane Co. in La Crosse, the DAV, the Wisconsin State Employment Service, Smith Engineering Co. in Milwaukee and as a ballroom dance instructor for Arthur Murray studios in La Crosse and Madison. 

She was united in marriage to Arnold R. Doud at the United Methodist Church in Black River Falls May 21, 1960. Over the years, she worked for General Telephone Co., Tomah Veterans Hospital, Farmers Home Administration, United Methodist Church and the Ho-Chunk Nation. They managed to fit farming their family farm in with the help of their three children, while working full-time jobs. She and Arnold enjoyed attending auctions, and they owned and operated a resale shop in Alma Center.

Beverly loved time with her family and enjoyed cooking and baking, traveling and visiting casinos.

She is survived by her daughters Vicki (Kent) Fisher and Laurie Doud and her son, Michael Doud; four grandchildren, Kirsten (Keith) Jochimsen, Rebecaa and Trenton Tondola and Sean Doud; and five great-grandchildren, Treyvan, Anniston, Teagan and Dawson and Laine; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband in January 2016; by her parents Edward and Mildred; sisters Nadine (Adolph) Sonsalla, Diane Brandt and Judy Skar; and brothers Duane and Charles Brandt.

It was Beverly’s wish there be no services. Private family arrangements are planned.
