Corinne Annette (Rindahl) Young
Corinne Annette (Rindahl) Young, formerly of Black River Falls, WI, died peacefully Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at the Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, WI, surrounded by family.
Corinne was born Jan. 5, 1928, the only child of Lihla (Anderson) and Johan Alfred (Fritz) Rindahl in Fairchild, WI, where she lived with her grandparents as a child in Rindahl Valley after the death of her mother.
After graduating from Fairchild High School, Corinne moved to Eau Claire, working as a teller at First Wisconsin Bank. While living in Eau Claire, she met her husband, Sam Young, of Augusta. They married in 1949 and moved to Black River Falls where they remained for many years, building a home and raising four children.
Corinne was a vibrant soul that radiated a zest for life that would light up the room. She inherently knew the importance of having fun in this life and instilled it in others through her love of making people laugh.
She was a humanitarian, caring for people and animals with love. She was involved in community theater and was an avid bridge player. She entertained at the nursing home in Black River Falls, supported the humane society and passionately cheered for the teams her husband coached, especially those in which her sons played. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and her roots and often made delicious traditional treats. She loved sharing anything she baked with everyone she could.
She was loved by all those who cared for her along the way, her husband, her children, her grandchildren and the wonderful caregivers.
She was preceded in death her son, David Young; and her husband, Sam Young.
Corinne is survived by three children, Steve Young, Rebecca Meyer (Steve) and Kristen Miller (Andrew); along with her five grandchildren, Christopher Burgau (Mirian), Katie Burgau (Mark), Samuel Miller (Lyla), Emelia Miller and Luca Miller.
The service and celebration for Corinne will be held at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls Friday, March 13, 2026.
