DAVID (DAVE) SIEGFRIED SEIDL

     David (Dave) Siegfried Seidl, 78, passed away peacefully Jan. 3, 2023, at his home in Black River Falls.

     Dave was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Eau Claire, WI, to Chloe “Tillie” (Kent) and Siegfried Seidl and raised in Eau Claire, WI. He was educated in the Eau Claire school system and was a graduate of Memorial High School, class of 1962. In 1964, he married his longtime sweetheart, Retamarie Copus, eventually settling in Black River Falls, WI, to raise their family.

     Dave was a valued employee of Nelson Muffler, Midland Cooperative and the Jackson County School District over the years. In addition, he managed other local businesses, such as the Jackson County Carwash and theater. He was well known in the community and very proud of his 25 years as a Black River Falls school bus driver, and five years as Ho-Chunk shuttle bus driver. Dave was looked upon as a mentor by the other drivers and was instrumental in the safety of the children of Jackson County for many years.

     Dave is survived by his longtime partner of 44 years, Betty Krpata; daughter Tracy (Arthur) Pett of Clear Lake, WI; son Eryn Seidl of Kaiserslautern, Germany; Betty’s children, Tom, Tim and Teresa Myher of Black River Falls, WI; 14 grandchildren, Brandi, Jessica, Jayme, Kristina, Annabella, Zachary, Brandon, Tyler, Brooke, Jordy, Kayla, Kylie, Austin and Alexys; and five great-grandchildren, Mason, Tristyn, Aurelia, Liam and Aubrey. 

     Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Chloe and Siegfried Seidl, and sister Nancy.

     A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls, WI; all are invited to attend. 

     The family would like to thank the staff at Black River Memorial Hospital. Hospice and EMS for their dedicated care.
