GABRIEL DECORAH

     Gabriel Decorah, 54, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at his home in Black River Falls, WI.

     Gabriel was born in Minneapolis, MN, Nov. 30, 1968, to Ronald and Doris Decorah. He was raised in California, where he graduated from La Familia High School in Thermal, CA. Gabriel moved to the Black River Falls area around 2008. 

     Gabriel held several different jobs, including working for Hodge Carpentry, as a chef for RePete’s and roofing. He had a gift for conversation and loved to make people laugh. Gabriel also enjoyed cooking and eating, his artwork, tattooing            and reggae and oldies music. He was a loving, wonderful father and loved to spend time with his nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives. Gabriel was a free spirit who enjoyed any opportunity to travel and had many miles under his feet.

Gabriel is survived by his brother, Isaac Valle; sisters Delores Decorah, Maria (Edward) Decorah, Lisa (Joel) Vonderhelen, Deb (Anthony) Sax, Gloria Valle, Sandra Valle and Norma Valle; daughter Angel Decorah; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Cecelia Blackdeer and Victor Decorah; and stepfather Isaac Valle.

     Funeral services for Gabriel Decorah took place Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, at noon at the Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the start of services. Burial followed the service at Decorah Cemetery.
