James Wilhelm

James Wilhelm
James “Jim” G. Wilhelm, 82, passed away April 15, 2026. Born Jan. 27, 1944, in St. Louis, he grew up on a farm in Black River Falls, WI, the youngest child of Carl Stephen and Helen Wilhelm.
Jim married his true love, Nancy Lee, and together, they raised two sons who always felt his unwavering pride and support. Cherishing his daughters-in-law, his caring nature extended beyond his friends and family. As a child psychologist, he spent his career working with children with exceptional needs.
With a brilliant sense of humor, he was a lifelong learner and an avid curler. Jim enjoyed driving racecars, sportscars and any other type of vehicle he could learn to race. He also loved the outdoors, especially time spent in nature.
He was a devoted grandfather who deeply respected each granddaughter’s unique path and listened with genuine interest and love. His legacy is simple and enduring: listen, and lead with love, trust and respect (and a heavy dose of humor).
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sons, James (Jane) Wilhelm and Carl (Margaret) Wilhelm; granddaughters Audrey (Zach) Rice, Madeline Wilhelm and Katharine Wilhelm; his brothers, Carl and Ed Wilhelm; and many much-loved nephews and nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held at The Venue in East Troy Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
