The youngest of 10, she was predeceased by her siblings Buddy, Terry, Cory, Arnie, Evie, Joannie, Mamie, Donna and Patty. Lody was also predeceased by her husband, Victor Schwartz.
Lody grew up in Black River Falls, WI. While in school, she joined every club, was a drum majorette and cheerleader. She excelled at everything. Lody attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to become a physical education teacher but changed course to go to airline school and became a stewardess. She flew for Braniff International in the late 1950s.
On Christmas Eve 1959, Lody married Sal Anzini, and they had two daughters. She is survived by her cherished girls, Lisa Pessagno of Martinsville, NJ, and Kristina Anzini of Stroudsburg, PA. Her grandson, Michael Bulifant of Hamilton Township, New Jersey, was the apple of her eye. Lody treasured her time with Michael, his wife, Cortnee, and her precious great-grandson, Hudson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, loving caregivers and a very special little boy who stole her heart, Wyatt.
Lody loved everything to do with family and domestic life. She loved sewing clothes for her daughters when they were young girls. She loved cleaning and cooking and baking and gardening and decorating and anything having to do with making a beautiful home for her family. She loved a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle. She loved getting together with her sisters and playing cards for hours on end. She loved lounging around watching the news, tennis, movies and Law & Order marathons. And she made wonderful cheesecake!
Lody worked hard and took great pride in all her jobs until she retired at 80 years old. She worked as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital, for a local government, for a bank in the investment department, as an executive secretary to numerous CEOs and chairmen of boards, for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, for an arts-centered charter school, for the Carbon Monroe Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission, for DUI Services and finally as a tipstaff in the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.
Lody was a proud lifelong Republican who worked tirelessly to get many candidates elected. She served as treasurer of the Monroe County Republican Party, on the executive committee and as a committeewoman. Lody also enjoyed volunteering for countless charitable causes and civic groups throughout her lifetime.
Lody lived by the phrase “let go and let God!” She maintained an optimistic outlook and lived her life in gratitude. Lody was forever grateful for her many supportive long-term friends.
Lody was just the right mix of down-to-earth and sophistication. She was immaculate in her appearance. She loved high heels, pearl earrings, polished nails and she could apply lipstick without having to look in a mirror, which always fascinated her daughters! She was a beautiful woman. More importantly, Lody was one of the kindest women ever, and everyone loved Lody.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2 to 3 p.m., immediately followed by a brief service to honor Lody at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street in Stroudsburg, PA.
