RENEE L. JACOBSON (BERGERSON)
Renee L. Jacobson (Bergerson) of Medford, WI, passed away and went to be with our Lord Feb. 28, 2024. Her parents, Ove and Norma Bergerson (Nelson), preceded her in death. Renee leaves behind a rich legacy, survived by three brothers, Rick (Tammy) Bergerson, Russell Bergerson and Ryan (Amelia) Bergerson; six children: Micah (Shara) Jacobson, Katie (Namen) Donnelly, Nikki (Cody) Campbell, Corey (Brooke) Jacobson, Sarah Jacobson and Ethan Jacobson; eight grandchildren: Ezekiel Jacobson, Micaiah Jacobson, Mackenzie Jacobson, Halen Donnelly, Hiram Donnelly, Anika Campbell, Freya Campbell and Cora Jacobson; long with many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born March 3, 1967, in Sparta, WI, Renee spent her formative years in the Cataract and Leon areas before moving to Northfield, WI, where she went to Whitehall High School and played banjo, bass guitar and sang in the family band, “The Notes of Norway.” Fate brought her together with her loving husband, John, and they exchanged vows June 27, 1987, in a ceremony at Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church. Their journey led them to adventures in Humbird, WI, Rexford, MT, Gordon, NE, and Medford, WI.
Renee went to Chippewa Valley Technical College, then operated an in-home daycare in Humbird, WI, and worked in the district office at Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan School District. She also worked as a restaurant server and a production line worker at Marathon Cheese in Medford, WI, for nearly eight years. Her real passion was serving the Lord and sharing her faith with others. As scripture says, “Preach the Word; be ready in and out of season; reprove, rebuke and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” II Timothy 4:2. Another passion Renee had was teaching. Ever since she was young, she had known she wanted to be an educator. Renee would line up her dolls and stuffed animals in front of her chalkboard and teach them in her pretend classroom. That passion transferred into her adult life as Renee home-schooled all six of her children, which took place over 27 years. Renee’s love for her family and the Lord will forever be in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to visitation at 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 23 at the Grace Lutheran Fellowship Hall, 200 W. Main Street, Alma Center, WI 54611. A service will begin at 11:30 a.m. and conclude at the East Lawn Cemetery on East Limits Road followed by lunch at Grace Lutheran Fellowship Hall.
