Terry Lee Rose

Terry Lee Rose

June 29, 1962-Jan. 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Terry Lee Rose, 62. Terry was born in Indiana and raised in Wisconsin where he developed an appreciation and deep love for nature. He could often be found swimming, fishing, hiking or biking. He loved to be close to nature, exploring the deep woods.

Terry was an accomplished martial artist and created his own technique and fighting style. He happily conducted demonstrations for others and competed in local competitions in the 1990s.

Terry was an excellent cook and worked as a chef’s assistant and sous chef in Atlanta. His personal recipe for pepper steak was printed in several magazines in the 1990s and highlighted on the menu at the restaurant he worked at. In addition to working as a chef assistant, Terry worked various jobs such as construction and was in the U.S. Navy.

Terry was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan and one of his greatest joys was seeing them play in person. He collected all things Packers and had extensive coin, car and Japanese collections.

While Terry spent most of his life in Las Vegas, NV, he returned to Black River Falls in 2021, rekindling relationships with his dearest friends, Todd, Mike, Paul and Mike.

Born with an unwavering spirit, a true warrior and competitor, Terry faced many hardships only to conquer them all.

Terry is survived by his sisters, Laura (Rick) Johnston, Lynda (Patrick) Savage, Kathryn Steere and Beth Rose; cousins Lynn (James) Jesse, Michael Kennedy, Joe Kennedy, Thomas (Lori) Steere, Sidonna (Michael) Reed,  Scott Steere, Nadine Kemp and  many Michigan Rose cousins;  many wonderful nieces and nephews; and his partner, Marylou Torres.

Terry was a warrior with a lion’s heart. He will be remembered and cherished always.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Terry’s life and legacy on May 16, 2026, at the LaBar residence in Hixton. Burial will be at the Mercer Cemetery,  Mercer, WI.
