Former Jackson County Board Chair Ray Ransom was presented the Jackson County Department of Health and Human Services (JCDHHS) 2022 Humanitarian Award at the board’s May  16 meeting. Presenting the award is JCDHHS Director Christine Hovell. “He would often arrive at 6 a.m. and stay all day long until his meetings at night,” shared Hovell, offering appreciation for his years of dedication, time and commitment to the county.
